Write to the Directors of the Agra and United Service Bank (limited) and with reference to the passage contained in the letter addressed to the Board of Trade in December 1855, copy of which is inclosed - to the effect that the object of the Charter Agra Bank was to obtain an Act authorising it to carry on the business of banking "generally, where it is now empowered to do so, in the East Indies and in China or elsewhere to the East of the Cape of Good Hope, as also, in England" request that My Lords may be informed of the ground on which the representation was made that the Bank was, at that time, empowered to carry on the business of banking in China, or elsewhere to the East of the Cape of Good Hope.
